Our Family

We are a family of six. Sazz (Mum) & Ealesy (Dad) have been friends since we were eighteen and a couple for ten years. Eale is a public servant during business hours, with a background in criminology. Sazz is a student midwife with a background in feminist academia. Together we've made a creative social butterfly (Gaia), an introverted fan of screens and ponies (Yemaya), a fierce jokester who cannot be killed by conventional weapons (Frida) and a content wee lad who enjoys witnessing the maddness (Lenus).

We've created this space to keep track of the joy and challenges of raising school-free kids and living, loving and parenting within a feminist framework. From time to time you may also have to suffer through Eale's ramblings on sports and crime and Sazz's feminist rants, but she has promised to try to keep it free from her self-indulgent yoga-ing.

We are starting this blog at a significant moment in our lives...we are emerging from a particularly challenging period and I think this blog is also a new kind of commitment to ourselves/each other in hammering out what sort of life we want to build together. This is a space to hold ourselves accountable to our values and to the future we want to ensure for the children and for Future Sazz and Future Ealesy.
